Welcome to Aucturrim, the land of Kairi!
If you're lost this is basically fakemon but quirky. They can change elements if they fight near an elemental tower for too long. You fight regional ambassadors to get approval to fight tower guardians (giant Kairi who are bosses). No game will probably ever come from this... I just think it's cool and want to develop it ^^
Aucturrim is a large island (considered a continent by most) with strange towers broadcasting strange energy. When the animals are able to pick up its signal, they absorb it and transform into Kairi. Humans have invented ways to harness this energy and to exploit the Kairi for combat, companionship, protection, or profit.
There are six elements: Fire, Toxin, Aether, Stone, Plant, and Storm. There are also six classes: Domestic, Hunter, Brute, Doctor, Critter, and Armored. Kairi can change element at will (which affects their appearance), though their class, which determines how they fight, will always stay the same.
Aucturrim's nations battle for control of the towers and the Kairi that put their cities in danger. Many people make money off of raising Kairi for businesses, storing them for collectors, and protecting others from them, but many also raise Kairi for war with other nations. The world is dangerous, so many have begun raising their own team of Kairi for battle and protection, known as Kairi Trainers.
The beings who guard the Six Broadcast Towers, who are said to have created them according to myth, are challenged by Kairi Trainers as a test of skill and to quell the tower's harsh signals. As a safety precaution, Trainers must seek out permission to battle these Tower Guardians, given out by receiving endorsements from the nation's many ambassadors. Those able to defeat the Tower Guardians are rewarded with ribbons, but few seem to have the dedication to obtain all six ribbons.
Changelog
V1.1.1 - Mar 18 2024
- Guardian/Cryptid concept art displays again. I had removed the development art from the site since it was mostly unused, but I forgot some of the art was used there, so those are back now.
V1.1 - Mar 16 2024
-
Rebuilt the kairipedia entry pages for easier coding and to include "tags" such as what class they are and if they can fly or not.
-
With this change, I've finally fixed previously-broken pages such as Fupiqétasi's (which couldn't load anything) and Pamihé/Fituhé's (which didn't even show up in the kairi list page). These pages had been broken because neocities didn't recognize the é character in links.
-
Things I had partially added previously such as english names and name origins are now universal with this overhaul.
-
Some descriptions were rewritten or simplified too.
-
Added the homepage illustration and this changelog!
-
Some kairi have been renamed to make their names easier to pronounce. Kelupaklori and Fupiqétasi are now Kelpakori and Fupketasi.
-
Added Galati, a silkmoth, and Bobafau, a redesigned form of Fuatawsa.
-
More kairi have pages now too. This includes Popawa, Rubatipu, Tiluabu, and Sefmi.
-
I did remove kairi history pages since they took too much work to make and I'd rather focus on other things; sorry if you guys miss those.
V1.0 - Jan 12 2024
- Site is finally published
